The Mediterranean Diet is getting major buzz in the new year as “The Diet of 2019”. This diet is essentially encouraging people to eat low portions of red meat and saturated fats and to eat high portions of produce, nuts, and other healthy supplements.
Fruits, veggies, fish, nuts, and olive oil are emphasized in this diet. This diet isn’t even promoted as a diet, but more so as a lifestyle choice! This is due to the fact that there’s not many restrictions with the diet. The lifestyle traditionally does not allow processed foods, but that’s the only exception. It actually promotes red meat and sweets in moderation!
The plan is successful in terms of weight loss, preventing cancer and illness, and living just an all around healthier way of life.
