Weeks after finding out about the affair, I woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and did not recognize myself. I looked like I had aged twenty years. The skin on my face was drained from limited blood supply, leaving me with harsh lines and sagging skin. I remember taking an ice pack and lying down on the couch in an attempt to get the blood flowing back into my face. What I learned that day was the impact over-processing your emotions can have on your skin and face.
