6 Favorite Holiday Cookbooks

Since Shelly Jaronsky launched her beloved website Cookies & Cups in 2008, her innovative and delightful recipes have established her as one of the premier dessert blogs in the virtual space. The Cookies & Cups Cookbook is her first book. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and four sons.

If you’re anything like me, the amount of time that you spend in the kitchen during the holiday season increases greatly compared to the rest of the year. I wouldn’t have it any other way! I make my holiday baking list months in advance (yes, I am weird), but there are just so many great new recipes out there I want to try, plus my family favorites, that the narrowing-down process takes some time.

I know most people don’t start their baking plans in July—so I’ve narrowed your search down to a few fantastic cookbooks with guaranteed delicious results. These are the books I reach for over and over and OVER again. They are my messiest, stickiest, dirtiest cookbooks that I can always count on:

Barefoot Contessa Foolproof

Barefoot Contessa Foolproof

by Ina Garten

I am an Ina freak and own ALL of her books. Her first, The Barefoot Contessa, was my favorite for a long time, but her book, Foolproof, took my top spot when it was released in 2012. Every recipe I’ve ever made from this book is a keeper!
